Daddy Freeze Defends Peller, Says Nigeria's Broken System—Not Influencers—Is Behind the Decline in Education

Media personality Daddy Freeze has weighed in on the ongoing "Peller culture" debate, arguing that blaming content creator Peller for the perceived decline in education and societal values misses the real issue.

Reacting to recent comments by rapper Ycee, Daddy Freeze said Peller is simply a smart young man who took advantage of opportunities created by a broken system, stressing that he should not be held responsible for the country's educational challenges.

According to him, the real problem is a society where years of education and professional excellence are often rewarded with poor salaries, while entertainment and reality TV offer life-changing financial opportunities. To illustrate his point, he referenced a professor of pediatric cardiology who reportedly earns less than ₦700,000 per month, despite working in a highly specialized medical field.

Daddy Freeze argued that education no longer guarantees a comfortable middle-class lifestyle in Nigeria, making alternative paths to success more attractive to many young people. He also noted that the huge cash prizes offered by reality shows such as Big Brother Naija, compared to the little recognition given to outstanding graduates, reflect the country's distorted value system.

He concluded that rather than blaming influencers like Peller or entertainment platforms, Nigerians should focus on addressing the systemic issues that have weakened the value placed on education and professional achievement.
