Man Found Dead in Ajara Topa Following Reported Domestic Disturbance

A man identified by residents as "Titi Kamara" was found dead on Sunday morning in Ajara Topa, Badagry, following a reported domestic altercation involving his wife.

The incident reportedly occurred opposite Ajara Comprehensive High School, leaving residents of the community shocked and seeking answers regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Speaking with Letblogit Digital, the Baale of Finayon Topa in Ajara Topa Kingdom, Chief Tindehuto Elijah, said he received information about the incident from a neighbour at about 7:00 a.m.

According to the traditional ruler, he immediately returned to the area and discovered the deceased lying on the ground.

"I saw Kamara on the ground and noticed blood stains around the area. I immediately began asking residents what had happened," Chief Elijah said.

The Baale explained that residents informed him that an argument had allegedly broken out between the deceased and his wife shortly before the incident. According to accounts provided by community members, the man allegedly struck his wife with a pestle during the altercation, leaving her injured.

Chief Elijah further disclosed that the couple's adult son reportedly witnessed the incident and may have attempted to intervene. He noted that the young man had visible scratches on his face when he saw him.

Residents also alleged that the injured woman fled the scene during the disturbance, while the deceased reportedly chased after her.

According to the traditional ruler, the woman was initially taken to the Primary Health Centre in Ajara before being transferred to a private medical facility for further treatment.

Chief Elijah also told Letblogit Digital that residents informed him that the deceased may have consumed a substance believed to be "Sniper." He stated that a bottle suspected to be connected to the incident was reportedly found at the scene.

Another resident who spoke with Letblogit Digital made a similar claim. However, Letblogit Digital could not independently verify the allegation, and no official confirmation has been provided by either the police or medical authorities.

During a visit to the scene, Letblogit Digital observed that the bottle was no longer present. Some residents claimed it may have been removed by police officers, although a cap believed to belong to the container remained visible at the location.

A pestle that was reportedly visible in earlier footage from the scene was also no longer present when our correspondent arrived.

The incident occurred in an unfenced residential building within a developed neighbourhood. A pair of slippers, which residents identified as belonging to the deceased, was still seen at the scene.

Some residents further alleged that the deceased had recently sold his house and vehicle after returning from a trip to his hometown, although the relevance of the claims to the incident remains unclear.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of death has not been officially determined, and authorities have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Security agencies are expected to investigate the matter to establish the facts and determine the events that led to the man's death.
